Did you know that the world’s rarest passport only has 3 holders? That’s right. This book is considered to be very rare, and getting your hands on a copy of the book is extremely hard.
Any person who has had to apply for a passport knows the pain, the hassle, and the frustration that one has to undergo before they can get this coveted travel document. But all these efforts are nothing compared to what one has to do to get this rare passport. Only a few copies of this document are in existence today.
Where Is this Passport from? Who Uses It?
The Sovereign Military Order of Malta is considered to be so exclusive such that passports are only granted to Catholic Order Members. Given that only the chosen few can get their hands on it, it is given to the Chancellor of the Order, Deputy Grand Master, and the Grand Master. Apart from the 3 officials, an additional 500 diplomatic passports are given to some members.
But despite this passport being very rare, users are not able to get very far with it. For instance, countries like New Zealand, United States, and the United Kingdom do not accept it for travel. This is in addition to other countries who have similar travel rules.
Apart from the passports, this group also expresses its sovereignty in coins, stamps, and license plates. Pope Paschal recognized this group officially in 1113. It is considered to be one of the oldest groups present in the Christian world today. It mainly operates as a charity organization and provides medical help where it is required around the world.
