Perhaps, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is set to become the highest grossing movie of all time. On Tuesday, this super hero packed orgy crossed the $300 million domestic mark in record time.
It ties with Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens in crossing the 300 million mark in domestic sales in 5 days. It earned 23.4 million at the end of Tuesday to hit 305.9 million mark.
It garnered an additional 505.2 million in international sales to pass the 800 million mark, and it’s estimated to reach $1 billion on Friday or Saturday. What’s more? On Tuesday, it passed the lifetime mark of Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, and even the recent Black Panther movie – which completely surpassed various levels.
So, what makes The Infinity Wars, an undeniable magnet to millions of fans? Well, it can be contributed to the undertone of tragedy that trailed the movie’s synopsis. Nothing draws more fans than a whiff of the classical Greek mythology, and this played out well for The Marvel Cinematic Universe. Besides the twist of tragedy, it features a blend of humor and wit portrayed by super heroes like Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, and even Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther.
Furthermore, movie critics around the globe are predicting a minute chance of the movie going past the $3 billion mark – which is unheard-of in any movie till date. Although, James Cameron’s Avatar reached the 2.79 billion mark – the highest grossing movie of all time, and counting costs for inflation.
The third installment of the Marvel’s Avengers is definitely looking promising in its first week, and more predictions will be made on the results of the second week at the box office. So, keeping our fingers crossed, as the movie is released in countries like China, which has a wide audience for superhero movies.
