OSI Receives the 2016 Globe of Honor Award
The British Safety Council recently bestowed the OSI Food Solutions with a Globe of Honor Award for 2016 for its outstanding control of environmental hazards. The award was presented during a luncheon at Drapers’ Hall, London, on November 25, 2016.
The group was one of the only 18 organizations that qualified for a Globe of Honor Award in 2016 worldwide. The reason for this accolade was to recognize organizations that exhibited remarkable efforts in the management of the environment.
For a company to qualify for the contest, it was required to achieve five stars in the environmental management audit scheme of the British Safety Council for the period between August 2015 and July 2016. They also had to prove to a panel of experts that they had taken extensive measures in environmental management in all their operations.
Mike Robinson, who is the Chief Executive of the British Safety Council honored the OSI group as he presented the award to Kelly Grimwood of OSI. Mike said that the winners of Globe of Honor Awards were exemplars of best practice, and that they all had stories to tell about what it took them to achieve the awards.
Apart from the 2016 win, the company also won the same awards in 2013 and 2015.
