Nominees for the 89th Academy Awards Have Been Announced

The nominees for the 89th Academy Awards were announced this past Tuesday. The musical “La La Land,” which had won a record number of Golden Globes a few weeks ago, received a staggering 14 nominations, including two in the “Best Song” category. “Moonlight” and “Arrival” came in second with eight nominations apiece.

The 89th Annual Academy Award Ceremony will take place on February 26, 2017. It will air on ABC at 8:30 p.m. EST, and Jimmy Kimmel will be the host.
