‘Game of Thrones’ may be returning to HBO but hardened TV fans are likely still reeling from one of the most surprising seasons in television that we’ve seen in a long time. ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, the spin off of AMC’s ultra successful ‘Walking Dead’, struggled in its first two seasons to hit a real mark in terms of tone and presentation. However, out of nowhere we saw the show turn from ‘DVR later’ into ‘must watch’ television throughout Season 3. Now AMC is taking their momentum and running with it by releasing a series of new posters for promotion at the epic San Diego Comic Con.
Season 3 of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ won’t return to television until some time in September, after the main series of ‘The Walking Dead’ gets its run. Until then we can take a peak at AMC’s glorious new character poster. The poster is set up to showcase all of the primary characters in the series, including a pair of newcomers in Troy (Daniel Sharman) as well as Jake (Sam Underwood). Characters Madison (Kim Dickens), Nick (Frank Dillane) and Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) headline the glorious image. As a whole it gives off definite vibes of the hardened western that you’d expect out of an apocalyptic show set on the Mexico/Texas border.
While fans weren’t as eager to tune into ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ through the first two seasons, that definitely seemed to change in a tumultuous and often violent season 3. Numbers for ‘Fear’ catapulted the series right up the charts in order to make it the #3 most watched show on Cable television, at least to start out the year. Scott Gimble, the showrunner for ‘Walking Dead’, has been more involved and perhaps that is why there has been a definite improvement in the structure of the show.
