The 2016 Ohio real estate market was the busiest year housing market wise since 2005. Home purchases reached 151,600 which is up seven and a half percent from 2015 in Ohio statewide. Northeast Ohio sales were up by eight percent based on listing service date. December 2016 sales were two point eight percent higher than 2015. The average sale price in Ohio was $159,531 which is up four point eight percent from late 2015. Nationwide sales experienced their strongest year even with a slide in December which tempered gains a bit. The middle sale price was $232,200 in December which is still up four percent from 2015. Nela Richardson says buyers are out looking for new listings but the only thing missing is homes for sale to match what buyers want.

A leading Ohio real estate agent in the current market is Tammy Mazzocco who began as a secretary with The Edwards Realty Company.
