Jason Hope’s Contribution to Anti-aging Research

Technology Enthusiast, Futurist, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, and Investor. These titles are what comes to mind whenever Jason Hope gets mentioned anywhere. On graduating with a Finance degree and later an MBA both from Arizona State University, the Arizona-born entrepreneur knew he had to back his passion using technology if at all he was to succeed.

As a futurist, he uses his technological knowledge to observe the industry and gives forecasts of where how the future looks, technologically. For instance, he spoke about a future where devices would be able to connect to shared data and networks, making utility life easier for consumers.

As a philanthropist, he donates his money to causes he believes in such as education, medicine, and research. For example, he believes in rejuvenation biotechnologies and considers it the next big revolution in the healthcare industry. According to him, traditional medicine focuses on curing diseases after they occur while rejuvenation biotechnology prevents these infections from happening in the first place.

In this respect, he has donated money to a future where the world will not get plagued by age-related illnesses like Alzheimer’s, cancer, diabetes or other cardiovascular issues. To champion for this cause, in 2010, he gave half a million dollars to SENS Research Foundation dedicated to fighting age-related disease through rejuvenation biotechnology. This donation was then used to construct Cambridge SENS Laboratory, which helped in advancing the foundations AGE-breaker research. SENS stands for “Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence.”

In describing how Jason’s contribution would get put to use, Aubrey de Grey, the then SENS Foundation CSO said: High blood pressure exacerbates aging, a condition caused by atherosclerosis, which is the hardening of arteries. The underlying cause of atherosclerosis according to Aubrey, is the molecular bonds between proteins that hold the arterial cells together. Hope’s donation would be used to research on pharmacological breakage of these unwanted molecular bonds, with potential results of restoring the extracellular matrix elasticity. Jason has not only supported the cause of SENS foundation by donating money, but he has also helped in its outreach endeavors by posting its achievements on his social media accounts. For example, he has written an article about a SENS conference that was going to change scientists’ outlook on aging forever. It goes on to show he can go an extra mile in pushing the agenda for a cause he believes in. Jason Hope Pledges $500,000

When an authority like Jason Hope makes technological predictions, the world listens, entrepreneurs act and the future gets saved. Thanks to people like Hope, research on anti-aging has made considerable progress, not to make people live up to 1000 years, but to let them live high quality, painless lives.

You Need the Help of Other People to Meet Your Financial Goals

A post on the VTA Publications blog makes an interesting analogy, and uses it to address a common human failing. And it points out how that failing can block you from meeting your financial and career goals in life.

It starts off with the analogy between rugby and a person going after their financial goals. As a company dedicated to financial goals, VTA Publications would definitely be an authority on the subject.  You are the red rugby team. You face the blue team who are determined to keep you from reaching your goals.

The people you want to be on your team are actually neutral. They’re on your side of the field, but they’re wandering around without any red shirts.

Do you think you can charge through the neutral players, and charge through the blue team to score? Not likely, is it? The blue team opposing you has a full team of 15 players opposing you.

For the red team, there’s only you. To have any hope of advancing the ball through the blue team, you must recruit the neutral players. You must convince them to put on red shirts and actively play on your side, helping you score you financial goals.

However, their latest article post points out, what do most people do most of the time when other people don’t immediately behave as you wish them to?

You criticize them. They are the people you usually run into during each work day. They’re co-workers, customers, gate keepers, clients, sales people and many more. They’re people who get in your way.

They’re not even wearing a red shirt, so they don’t seem to be on your side.

The trouble is, people don’t like criticism. They don’t like the people who criticize them.

Therefore, when you criticize people, you are not convincing them to help you achieve your financial goals. Criticize them enough, and you’ll recruit them to the blue team. They’ll hate you and actively try to block you from your desires.

The trouble is, people don’t want to admit you’re right and they’re wrong. Even if they are. You can’t win an argument by arguing.

The solution is to stop criticizing other people. Instead, be interested in them. Look at things from their point of view. Find out what they want, and work out how you can help each other achieve your goals.
