This Dad Has a Genius Solution for Clipping His Dog’s Nails

Most people love being pampered and having their nails done. Dogs, on the other hand, usually despise having their nails clipped.

A dad from Minnesota was recently faced with the dilemma of clipping his rescue dog’s nails without him putting up a fight. His daughter was there to capture the hilarity that ensued.

Patrick Peifer had seen a contraption that suspends the dog from a door frame to make nail clipping easier, so he decided to try it out for himself. Instead of purchasing an expensive harness, he decided to make a trip to Goodwill.

He purchased an old purse and cut holes in it for their dog, Oliver’s, legs and head. He then suspended the purse straps from a gym bar that was attached to the door frame and placed unsuspecting Oliver inside of the purse.

With his trusty headlamp on hand for better lighting, Patrick got to clipping Oliver’s nails. His daughter, 18-year-old Kendal, was sure to snap some photos of the ordeal. She then posted them to Twitter, where it soon went viral.

Kendal confessed to Buzzfeed that she was surprised at how quickly her tweet took off. Her post has already been retweeted over 70,000 times.

People fell in love with not only their adorable pup, whom they rescued a year ago, but also Kendal’s dad. Many Twitter users have been asking for his number and if he’s single.

Other people shared similar experiences with their dogs, rigging contraptions of their own out of pillowcases and more unusual items. It’s safe to say that clipping Oliver’s nails will no longer be a struggle now that Patrick has his trusty purse contraption on hand.

For the love of speed- the story of a rally enthusiast Michel Terpins.

During the 22nd edition of the Sertoes rally, something interesting happened that would bring a lot of excitement among fans of the sport. The rally scene would be transformed forever as two of the best in their respective fields were brought together. Michel Terpins, one of the most consistent and skilled drivers in the country, introduced the T-Rex.This is a vehicle developed by MEM motorsport to compete in the T1 prototype category. The coming together of this two brands was exciting because fans recognized that MEM designed some of the best racing cars that had graced the Brazilian rallying landscape. Michel on the hand was simply a legend, his skill and elegance as a driver had been put to the test and despite having less than a reliable car in the past, he had still proved why he was among the best. The T-Rex would receive the #322 sticker and from then onwards it that is the tag that Michel would come to be associated with. The #322 is special to rally fans as this is the number they have come to associate with winning. The Bull Sertoes rally team has proven that it is more than a creation of two brothers, but a blend of passion and skill and it was thus not lost on them when on the 24th edition a new addition was made to the team. Michel Terpins brought on Navigator Maykel Justo; Justo is one of the most experienced and high achieving navigators in the Brazilian rallying scene. He has over the years proved why he is an essential addition to every team that he joins and the ability of Michel to bring him on board just proved again why he was the best. Justo was excited to join the Bull Sertoes Team as he stated that working with Michel had been one of his dreams. The pair had brought together men that were willing to go the extra mile and reach for the stars in every competition that they entered. For them, this would present that opportunity as they realized that between them they had the skills to challenge the norm.

Cheering for Michel Terpins.

Actions speak louder than words and winners are not born but made. These are some of the words Michel terpins lives by. He has been in the Brazilian rally scene for some years and has continuously proved that through practice one can achieve a lot. Michel began his career in cross country and would become one in a lifetime champion. His reign at the top was so formidable that by the time he retired, he was elected chairman of the sport which was meant to ensure that his experience was put to good use and true to expectation he did not disappoint as a leader either. He has been able to revive a sport that had seen some level of stagnation and grow it into something that Brazilians could be proud of. His move into Rallying was however received with mixed reactions by fans. He had set the bar too high for himself during his days in the cross country, and fans would expect nothing less in rallying. They used to cheering for a champion, and they were not about to conform to any other standard it was not thus lost on him how much work he would need to put into before all his fans would agree to his newest move. He would team up with his brother to establish the Bull Sertoes rally team; this was the first clear statement of intent. He was proving to those that still doubted his move that he was in it for the long term and several years later, they have become believers. The team partnered with MEM Motorsport and together they developed the T-Rex . The T-Rex is T1 prototype category race car; this is a category that features two-wheel drive cars. The car has over the various editions of the Sertoes rallies received upgrades and modifications to meet the new challenges thrown at it. In the first ever competition that it took part in it suffered some minor setbacks but that would serve as a strong lesson for the team as the improvements that have been done on it have made it one of the most formidable cars.

Rampage to Break “Curse” on Video Game Adaptations?

Movies based on video games are awful. This is a generally accepted rule, anyway; after many terrible entries into the genre (particularly by Uwe Boll), many gamers are skeptical of any attempt to turn their favorite passtimes into a box office success.

Brad Peyton hopes to beat those odds, however, with his upcoming Rampage adaptation starring Dwayne Johnson.

“I didn’t know about this quote-unquote ‘video game curse’ until about two weeks after I finished the movie,” he admitted in a discussion with IGN.

In any adaptation, you need to deliver the story as it already exists, which can be particularly difficult for video games. “As a gamer, I know, I play as the hero. That’s an immersive medium, and so, it’s really hard to go up against something that pre-exists.”

Rampage may be harder than most games due to its unconventional story. On the one hand, it is a pretty traditional monster film in the style of Godzilla or King Kong, about a trio of giant animals that smash up cities. The thing is, in this game, you play the monsters, with humans as the enemies to be destroyed.

Enter Johnson’s character, a primatologist named Davis Okoye. He has a special bond with one of the monsters, George the Gorilla; presumably, he will try to protect the rampaging animals at the same time that he attempts to rein them in and keep them from destroying the city.

Whether or not it will break the video game movie curse remains to be seen, but Peyton seems to have the right idea on how to do it.

“Monster movies are meant to be fun,” he says simply, and he hopes to embrace the genre’s cheesy goodness.

How Ted Bauman Dives Into the Workday

In 2013, Ted Bauman, the current editor of columns such as The Bauman Letter, Plan B Club, and Alpha Stock Alert, joined Banyan Hill Publishing, after spending 25 years working as an executive in the nonprofit division, where he played a large role in securing funds for a number of housing projects. Shortly after arriving in South Africa, Ted Bauman attended The University of Cape Town, where he studied economics and history as a postgraduate. He has spent the majority of his life helping people to garner resources that will allow them to live autonomous lives, free of government micromanagement and corporate avarice. Throughout his career, Mr. Bauman has garnered a significant client portfolio, working with a number of well-established institutions, including the United Nations and the World Bank. Mr. Bauman returned to the United States in 2008 after a 25-year run abroad, taking a position with Habitat For Humanity. In 2013, he decided to dedicate his life to writing and research on a full-time basis, joining Banyan Hill Publishing. He recently authored a book, along with his father, former United States Congressman, Robert Bauman, entitled “Where to Stash Your Cash (Legally).” Today, he is a resident of Atlanta, GA, where he lives with his family. Read more at about Ted Bauman

One of the most important factors in Ted Bauman’s life is time management. While he wouldn’t consider himself a master of this practice, he has come to realize over time that the morning is the optimal time for him to begin work, as he is much more efficient. His day can sometimes begin as early as 5:00 am when he is persistent about getting extra work done, but he normally begins shortly after dropping his daughter off at school. He has made it a custom to tackle his hardest work in the early part of the day, which throughout his career, has proven to be an effective method.

Keeping his readers engaged through his narrative voice is something that Ted Bauman constantly stresses, and in doing so, he always attempts to stay abreast of the growing trends within his readership. One trend that he has noticed, is that people are currently paying much closer attention to, is the willingness of western governments to adhere to the requests of large corporations, being that they are the ones that are ultimately affected. He’s learned that people today are much more willing to question the government’s relationship with major corporations.

Seattle’s Rainforest Dome : The Amazon Spheres

Seattle is celebrating the grand opening of The Spheres, Amazon’s miniature rainforest and office. It is made of half domes filled with 40,000 different plants from around the world. The Sphere took seven years and $4 billion to complete. From the outside, it looks otherworldly. The three orbs jet out of the earth, shiny from the glass exterior.

The largest sphere is the centerpiece and measures 130 feet across and 90 feet tall. Flanked on each side by two smaller domes, this most unusual work setting can house 800 people at a time. While some features remain the same, such as Wi-Fi and small meeting spaces, there are no traditional closed offices. This space is for workers to come and refresh, be with nature, and think differently.

The Sphere is biophilia, which means it has natural features, plants, and natural light. These outdoor inspired designs have shown to increase creativity in employees. Playfully named “the bird’s nest,” one gathering area literally hangs out under a mammoth tree.

The walls are alive with plants, and vertical gardens grow up to sky. Phragmipedium orchids cover one wall, a plant from South America with a similar appearance to slipper orchids. Another wall grows pitcher plants. A carnivorous plant that captures its prey in deep leaf-formed cavities filled with digestive enzymes.

Amazon’s rainforest in the middle of Seattle is open for visitors. The Spheres Discovery at Understory gives hours, parking instructions, and directions. The understory term means the area between the rainforest canopies but above the ground plants, and promises 360-degree views.
